Lots of Smoke and Oil.

Helga decided that she had enough this morning and while filtering through traffic on the A3 north bound at the Queen Elizabeth Country park, I notice I seemed to be producing rather a lot of smoke.
So I pull over to the junction of the entrance in to the park and notice smoke poring off my bike, so I shut off the engine and then see all the oil. First i think its coming out off the exhaust, but it looks more like its from the underside of the bike as its covered most of the back end and tyre. Lucky I managed to keep it upright, as there is nice oil trail left by me as I come off the road!
At the same time another bike pulled off with me and asked if I was OK and checked that I had recovery and a phone (the guy was on a new Gixer). So that was nice. He said he thought it was a bit foggy when he joined the dual carriageway then noticed it was me... lol.

Managed to get quickly recovered by a guy in a proper motorcycle recovery van with the floor that drops, got to me nice and quick and he was nice and chatty, so that was good. SOS recovery I think, so I will recommend them in the future, and might write a letter to Carol Nash to say how happy I was.

Anyway, here are the picks, first 2 are at the side of the A3 and the others are taken on my drive.

Paneling

Well here you are a few pics from the weekend testing, still a bit unsure as I might need to trim the front below the lights, and air scoop a bit more to make the lines flow better.
The design is a mix of 2 things really, I was looking to do something different and I had this idea. Though I found out that a fellow forum member at www.sv650.org had beaten me to it, so got some advice off him. Then obtained some panels of someone off this forum for free, this was because they had been mashed up. Its taken me a long time to get it sorted as sometime I need rather allot of motivation to get going, though I have been busy with a lot of other things on this bike. The battery tray for example, I'm still not sure if I'm happy with its position as it obscures the nice shock rather a lot. But I'm sure this will come with more time.

Pulled by the Rozzers

Less then 2 miles from home and I get pulled by the police, I was doing more then 30 in a 30, though I couldn't tell you how much as I was just running on normal mode after coming of the motorway.
I imagine my speed was anything from 30 to 35 to 40 mph, though he said the main reason he pulled me was that he suspected me of drinking as I was a tad wobbly. This might have been true as the last bend I took all wrong.

One of those things though, just asked all the usual questions. Thats not your real colour hair is it? Nope. Where you been? London. When did you leave? Sometime before 12. Where you going? Just going to post something in to my brothers house over there and then home. Whats your name and address? Blah.
While all this is going on his mates looking over the bike and checking the details, even stuck his hand on the tyre to see how warm it was.
Just got asked to slow down and sent on my way... So in all it could have been a million times worse.

So wake up call Mr Martin.

I was polite, didn't get funny in any way and answered all his questions.
