793.5 Miles

That's the distance I have travelled this weekend and Friday, over 300 miles to get to North Yorkshire and set up me tent. With the last 38 miles of that journey with a coughin' and splutterin' bike, which after I put up my tent I started looking at. Ripped the back plastics off and it turned out, after a good hunt and yanking all the loom out, to be a wire that had worn through. 5 minutes of fixing seems to have sorted it for now, but I will give it a good looking over later.

So why have I travelled this distance, for our www.sv650.org annual ride-out, over 48 bikes and their owners turned up. Even though it was pissing it down with rain, tents where leaking and the field was getting muddy, but we had a great time. The ride-out was great and I had a lovely time, drunk to much, then made a fool of myself by running across a field in my bike boots and pants. Well someone had to and I now have a reputation to keep up.
I really enjoyed being a marker* and hopefully if I do the AR next year I will get a chance to do it again.

Big thanks to all those that organised the event, as it would not have been the marvel that it was.

* Marking is where you as a designated marker in your yellow vest point the direction of travel at required junctions set by the ride leader. Thus ensuring everyone gets round the route OK, once all the group is past and you see the rear marker you race to the front for the next marking.
