Working on the Sub-frame
I did it, finally I got my finger out and ripped the old and rather bent sub-frame of my 2001 SV650S. It's only been waiting for me to get off my fat arse and do it for the last year and a half, but its off now and that a good thing. The frame that needs to go on in its place has been cleaned up and is now hanging in the shed with its first 2 coats of hammerite. Well I hope it still is, as long at the nails have held!
So as you can see from the pic's the first is with the seats and plastics pulled off.
Then I removed the seat lock, CDI, and other electrics. Looking from behind you can see how warped the old frame is.
Once the rest of the elec cable is loosened off I got the undertray off and went about removing the sub-frame its self.
Tied all the loose cables back and strapped up the rear brake reservoir, which appears to have a slight leak so might have to replace that. Got job all the brakes are getting serviced anyway. Once that's all done its just time to tidy away and get on with painting the replacement sub-frame.
